THE ROCK THAT’S HIGHER THAN I

Lion of Judah by Lebo Sekgobela

From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

Psalms 61:2

Have you like the Psalmist been relegated to the ends of the earth by the enemy of your purpose and destiny? Are you in a position of utter ruin, a design of the enemy unto perdition? Or you are in a place of perpetual pain. A place of deep hurt that locks you out, a place of regret, wishing you had done things differently given the despair you experience?

That point where you feel no one born of man can reach in to save you, like Ishmael the son of Hagar. The very same situation Samson, son of Manoah found himself where the very light of his life had been quenched through the searing iron of disobedience, on the laps of lust. At a time; Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach and Abednigo buried their head in the face of death, thinking the end has come.

Hagar and Ishmael

Perhaps you are overwhelmed with pain pangs of addiction, fighting a seeming lost battle with every drug dose you take even when you swore the previous would be your last. Withdrawn from your very self, you have become the reflection of a shadow of what is programmed for your once vibrant spirit… the shackles of death.

Rejected and scorned like Tamar, abused and subdued…. oh Dinah, no one really cared how you cascaded down the staircase of distraught, not given a chance to decide what happens in your life. You just flowed, floating in a life of confinement dictated by the ones who should love you.

Aha! the pain of an aggrieved wife who seek daily for the comfort of a man she tied her soul to, a man who never graced her love with kindness but broke her heart bit by bit and into irredeemable pieces with his adulterous spirit and abuse.

What ends of the earth have you found yourself today? God’s hands is not shortened that he cannot reach you when you are overwhelmed with grief. Cry out like the little warrior Ishmael. There is a point where you just must give up on trying keep your head afloat by your own power. Haven’t you realised that you can’t by your own strength deliver yourself? God is waiting for you to trust in Him completely for your deliverance. For it is not by power nor by might but by the Spirit of the living God.

Cry out woman of God! Let the Lord glory in your weakness. You have done this all on your own and it time for the Rock that is Higher than you to take over. If he could hear the blood of Abel cry out for vengeance, he will surely hear you even now.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

2Corinthians 12:9

Let the fourth man arise in the fire for you, cry out! Dinah, the Lord sees your pain, Tamar He feels your heartbreak and Samson no more will you mill the grains of the enemy, Your God will arise to position you on that Rock that is Higher than you.

“Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

Daniel 3:25
The fourth man in the fire

You will begin to feel love again. You will live again. The covenant of the blood of Jesus will override the potency of addiction. Light is returning to you.

Abba will hear your cry when you call from the depths in groaning like Hannah. You will safely rest in Jesus, the Rock higher than you where no demon can lay a finger on you again .

Make this your prayer today,

FATHER, LEAD ME TO THE ROCK THAT IS HIGHER THAN I. JESUS SON OF THE LIVING GOD, COME THROUGH FOR ME.
